{"id":602,"date":"2010-12-13T12:12:52","date_gmt":"2010-12-13T18:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mikeraffety.com\/blog\/?p=602"},"modified":"2010-12-13T12:12:52","modified_gmt":"2010-12-13T18:12:52","slug":"the-max-plan-from-district-72","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mikeraffety.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/13\/the-max-plan-from-district-72\/","title":{"rendered":"The MAX Plan from District 72"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mikeraffety.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/bullseye-e1292263362196.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-605\" title=\"bullseye\" src=\"http:\/\/mikeraffety.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/bullseye-e1292263362196.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"174\" height=\"127\" \/><\/a>Looking for ways to help small clubs, but can&#8217;t find coaches to help them?\u00a0 D72 (New Zealand) has developed a very interesting group\/virtual coaching approach, the MAX Plan, based on the Rising Star Program from D10\/D28\/D61.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve developed a 40-page document that explains just how to go about it, and they&#8217;ve had some very strong success.\u00a0 The prime target is small clubs (12 or less members without a coach), and secondarily, medium-size clubs that may have stagnated (13-18 members).\u00a0 Often, distance is a problem, some clubs may be hours distant or hundreds of miles away from other clubs.<\/p>\n<p>The goals are to help the club become distinguished (like a club coach), but also to be positioned for long-term growth, through educating officers and improving awareness of the Toastmasters program potential.<\/p>\n<p>It starts with a half-day foundation workshop (usually done at the division level), followed up by virtual coaching, and 4-8 months later, a follow-up session.\u00a0 A full set of handouts and an outline of the presentation material is included, with some great resources.<\/p>\n<p>With the permission of the author, Murray Coutts (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.toastmasters.org.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\">District 72<\/a> Lt.
