2011-12 facts and figures about districts

Membership payments

37 of the 86 districts lost membership this year.

D59 (continental Europe) added the most membership payments, adding 1,741 over their base, about 870 members, almost 15% growth.  D41 (India except Karala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka) wasn’t far behind, adding 1,550 over base (28%).

D41 added the most membership payments as a percentage, at 28% growth, simply amazing!  D79 (Saudi Arabia) was next at 21%, and D76 (Japan) at 16%.

Clubs

19 districts had a net loss in clubs this year.

D79 has the largest net club growth, adding 48 net clubs, followed by D85 (China) at 39 net clubs added, and D41 at 34 net clubs added.  These clubs earn the President’s Extension award at the Hall of Fame ceremony in August in Orlando.

D79 also had the largest club growth as a percentage, 42%!  D41 grew clubs by 36%, and D85 grew clubs by 21%.  These are districts that will likely be splitting soon (or just did this month).

CC awards

D47 (Southern Florida, Bahamas) recorded the most CCs with 704, followed by D14 (Georgia) with 626 and D72 (New Zealand) with 553.

Proportional to the number of base clubs, D41 had the highest (2.7 CCs per club), followed by D47 (2.53 CCs) and D1 (Southern California, 2.53 CCs).

AC awards

D47 also racked up the most ACs with 355, followed by D14 with 295 and D21 with 284.

Proportional to the number of base clubs, D43 (Arkansas, Central Mississippi, Western Tennessee) has the most at 1.5 ACs per club, followed by D1 at 1.4 ACs and D3 (Arizona) at 1.3.

Leadership awards

D47 had the most again with 622, followed by D14 with 554 and D20 (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Jordan and Lebanon) with 472.

Proportional to the number of base clubs, D41 had the most at 3.1 leadership awards per base club, followed by D43 with 2.6 per club and D47 with 2.2 per club.

Distinguished clubs

D71 had the most with 187, follwed by D47 with 173 and D14 with 157.

Proportional to the number of base clubs, D71 led again with 76%, followed by D41 with 72% and D85 with 71%.

39 districts (almost half) reached the 50% mark for distinguished clubs, another 14 reached 45%, and another 12 reached 40% (thresholds in the new district recognition program).  Only 21 districts (less than a quarter) fell short of 40% clubs reaching distinguished.  Two districts were between 25-30%.

More analysis of how districts would have fared under the new district recognition program will be following soon.

Note that these are all my own calculations, not official numbers from TI.
