The scene at my Sunday morning flight’s gate at the Palm Springs airport was quite interesting; most of the people were Toastmasters! Including Jana, who declared as she boarded the plane “No speeches on this plane!”
It was a long trip home, via Dallas, but fortunately, I got upgraded on the last segment home to Chicago. It’s good to be home, but I’m already missing all my Toastmasters friends!
Soon it will be time to start calling them though, it’s just 2 1/2 months until the ILC starts their International Officer Candidate Survey (IOCS)!
Hi Mike ,jackie here sounds like you had a fab time i am definitely going next year i was going at the last minute and then chickened out !!! trust you to get upgraded at the last minute ….. how did you manage that ?? hope you didn’t have to sell the body ! whats the INOC survey
Hi Jackie, thanks for the comment! No, they upgraded me for free, they had made a mistake. The International Officer Candidate Survey (IOCS) is something the ILC sends out to key current and past leaders.
From http://www.toastmasters.org/websiteApps/policyProcedures/SectionVIE2.pdf, page 6:
“An International Officer Candidate Survey (IOCS) will be taken beginning November 1 of the Board of Directors, past international presidents, past international directors for a period of two years following their term of office, current district governors and immediate past district governors. The survey will close on December 15. The survey will ask for one name for each of the offices of International President-Elect and First Vice President and one or two names for Second Vice President.”
